The new <a href=\"http:\/\/fightspam.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/030.nsf\/eng\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Canada\u2019s Anti-Spam Legislation<\/a> (CASL) applies to any form of \u201cElectronic Commercial Messages\u201d (ECM), including email, instant message, text message and any other type of electronic correspondence. The regulation will affect Canadian residents or anyone sending to Canadian residents (individuals or businesses).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In order to comply with the <a href=\"http:\/\/fightspam.gc.ca\/eic\/site\/030.nsf\/eng\/home\" target=\"_blank\">CASL<\/a>, when sending \u201cElectronic Commercial Messages\u201d you have to follow 3 simple steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Make sure you expressed or implied consent to send your message.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Clearly identify your company. If you are sending the message on behalf of another organization, make sure to identify that company as well. Identification must include, but not limited to, name (preferably with logo), mailing address and either a phone number, email address or web address.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Provide a mechanism for recipients to unsubscribe from receiving future messages from your company.
